Mikaella Mousicos

Mikaella Mousicos is an artist from London working in many mediums such as in audio, performance, photography, poetry, painting, wearable art and installation. Mousicos is interested in exploring the recurring themes of body/identity as well as wider issues like femininity/hegemony. 

Mousicos’ work serves as a means to navigate her life and process her past. Her practice allows her to create a comprehensible timeline of her life – each project pinpointing a major event, source of trauma or any relevant period of emotion. In this way the work is utilised as a form of expression and release of these experiences. The artist uses herself as the model for most of her pieces, this is done to explain the personal influence that the subject of the work has over her. If exhibited on other people, the feeling of her unique perspective would be lost.
