Mikaella Mousicos is a queer Cypriot artist from London. Their work ranges from poetry, wearable art, performance, insulation, video and sound with a current focus on surrealist self portraiture. Mousicos is interested in exploring personal themes of body and identity as well as wider issues such as pain, femininity and hegemony.

Mousicos’ work serves as a means to navigate her life and process her past. Their practice pinpoints major personal events, unique perspectives and relevant periods of emotions that she has experienced. In this way, the work is utilised as a form of expression and digestion of these experiences. This hints at the values Mousicos holds about how art can and should be utilised to benefit society.
